About the Department
Oral biology is the study of basic biological properties of the oral and paraoral tissues in health and disease. Oral biology emerged as a complex specialty that encompassing a wide diversity of areas including cellular and molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, nutrition, cancer biology, and more. In our department, our mission is to help students bridge the gap between basic and clinical sciences. In addition we assist in developing the students’ soft skills, in particular, teamwork, commitment and learning skills. Teaching strategies we use are mainly guided and active learning techniques. By providing our students with the state of the art learning tools and knowledge, we can trigger as well innovation and give them a better understating of the importance of evidence-decision making in patients treatment planning and in providing the best standers of care. Our department is the home of more than 10 faculty members that came with a training of diverse prestigious schools around the world. They participate in the teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. They also help according to their specialty of expertise in different education and clinical sciences duties whether that take place at school, university or nationally. The department is committed to ensuring that we raise our students’ level in both academic and research training.
